Yan Gao, Nuoping Zhang

Abstract

The core of STEM education concept is interdisciplinary integration, which requires the combination of real situation problems and the use of multidisciplinary knowledge to solve them, so as to improve students' problem solving ability and comprehensive quality. The integration of STEM education into the design of scientific teaching activities in primary schools has certain significance for the teaching of front-line teachers, the cultivation of scientific core literacy and the achievement of the curriculum objectives proposed in the New Curriculum Standards. In the process of integrating STEM education into the design of scientific teaching activities in primary schools, we need to follow the three principles of comprehensiveness, student subjectivity and innovation and development, and propose design strategies from two aspects: the selection of teaching content and specific implementation steps.
