Refl ections on the Integration of Chinese Cultural Elements into College English Curriculum Construction
Abstract
As one of the most important courses in university education and teaching, English plays a key role in the improvement of students’ language ability and the development of comprehensive quality.And English is not just a language, it also essentially contains the cultural connotation of the country that uses English.Therefore, if Chinese cultural elements can be integrated with college English teaching, students can be encouraged to pay attention to cultural diff erences in the process of learning English and deepen the understanding of both cultures, rather than just learning to understand English from a western cultural perspective.However, in order to improve students’ performance, English teachers often ignore the importance of cultural integration.Therefore, teachers should change their ideas and explore the eff ective path of the integration of Chinese cultural elements and college English teaching.
