The Effects of Economic Factors of Personal Development in Terms of Education

Hui Lu, Weehoe Tan

Abstract

The impact of the economic gap on individual access to education is a topic of much discussion. Weber’s social stratification theory points out that social stratification results from some groups having higher status, power, and wealth than others.Families with higher economic income or urban families can invest more in their children’s education, and children from wealthy families are more likely to succeed in life. The paper explores the eff ects of economic factors on personal development in terms of education from the perspective of family economic income gap and the gap between urban and rural resources. Families with high economic income invest more in their children’s education than low-income families, and high-income families create a broader future and more choices for their children. The gap between urban and rural resources affects individual educational achievement.Due to limited investment in education in rural areas, the lack of investment in education leads to the limitations of the ideology, and most future employment is limited to low-level hard labor jobs.
