Abstract
In today’s society, the position and role of college physical education courses are becoming increasingly prominent.Especially under the guidance of the goal of fostering virtue and cultivating people, college physical education courses have gradually transformed from purely skill-based teaching to diversified development of moral, intellectual, and physical education.This study discusses the proposal and signifi cance of the goal of fostering virtue and cultivating people, analyzes the role of ideo-logical and political education in college physical education courses, and aims to promote the integration of physical education and ideological and political education. Secondly, it unfolds relevant theories and research from three aspects: the connotation and objectives of fostering virtue and cultivating people, the implementation of ideological and political education in college physical education courses, and the trends and challenges of college physical education curriculum reform under the goal of fostering vir-tue and cultivating people. Based on this, strategies for college physical education curriculum reform of ideological and political teaching are proposed, including integrating ideological and political theories into physical education courses, combining physical education practice with ideological and political education, improving the quality of teaching staff and strengthening ideological and political education training for teachers, as well as strengthening the construction of the evaluation system and building a multi-dimensional evaluation system.
