The Application of Participatory Design in the Transformation of Neighbourhood Public Space Landscape—— An Example of Landscape Transformation in Beijing’s Xihongmen Venture Street

Abstract


With the development of China’s urban culture and economy, the diversification of social interests and the transformation of social governance structures, the regeneration of neighbourhoods is facing new opportunities and challenges. Older urban neighbourhoods sustain the core emotions and values of the city, and various social actors play diff erent roles in the regeneration of neighbourhoods, requiring adequate and effective public participation to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of various stakeholders.
