Current Situation and Path of Integrating Fine Traditional Chinese Culture into College English Teaching

Abstract


College English is both instrumental and humanistic. College English teachers should not only impart language knowledge, but also focus on the integration of culture in teaching. The integration of fi ne traditional Chinese culture into college English teaching can not only improve students’ English language expressing ability and cross-cultural communication skills, but also promote teachers’ cultural literacy and ability to educate students, and also help to develop characteristic local teaching materials. Based on our university’s current situation of integrating fi ne traditional Chinese culture into college English teaching, this paper expounds the necessity and signifi cance of integrating fi ne traditional Chinese culture into college English teaching, and puts forward specifi c methods and path.
