The Cause and Value of Cultural Patronage During the Tudor Period in England

Abstract


Cultural sponsorship is the demand of social development. During the Tudor Dynasty in England, various forms of cultural sponsorship were carried out mainly by monarchs and aristocrats, and the sponsors mainly by literati or scholars received one or more cultural sponsorship. This form of sponsorship not only guaranteed the interests, status and glory of the sponsors, but also promoted the individual development of the sponsors and the prosperity of the whole social culture. This paper mainly focuses on the cause and value of cultural sponsorship in the Tudor period of England.
