Since its release, Yankee Doodle Dandy has been labeled as “black humor”, “script-killer film” and “post-modern film”. Using structuralist dichotomy theory, this paper will analyze three aspects of the film: spatial construction, symbolic collage, and image construction, in order to explore the aesthetics of dichotomies in “The Famous”.
