Abstract

It is necessary to use culture to instruct people, use art to connect the heart, and communicate with the world. This article aims
to explore how college English majors can use the Second Classroom to effectively spread excellent traditional culture. The profound
Chinese civilization is the unique spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation, the foundation of contemporary Chinese literature and art, and
the treasure of literary and artistic innovation. However, at present, English majors are not ideal in teaching excellent traditional culture during their school years, which is far from General Secretary Xi Jinping's ardent expectations for the vast number of young people, telling Chinese stories well, spreading Chinese voices, showing a true, three-dimensional and comprehensive China to the world. In view of these reasons, the Second Classroom, as an activity platform independently organized and participated by students, is an
important way for students to broaden their knowledge, improve their comprehensive quality and carry forward the excellent traditional
Chinese culture. English majors can make full use of it to actively participate in traditional cultural activities inside and outside the school, such as celebrating traditional festivals, visiting exhibitions, etc., to spread and publicize the excellent traditional Chinese culture. We
should constantly improve our traditional cultural accomplishment and expression ability, and become an excellent representative of spreading excellent traditional Chinese culture.
