Study on the Cultivation of English Majors' International Communicative Competence in Higher Education

Abstract


With the deepening development of globalization, it has become an important task in the field of education to cultivate the
international communication ability of college English students. This study aims to explore the development path of English major students' international communication skills and make relevant suggestions. Through the comprehensive analysis of existing research and
empirical research, this paper finds that English students have some deficiencies in international communication ability, including the
limitations of curriculum and teaching methods, and the cognitive level of students on international communication ability. Based on this, this paper discusses the theoretical path of international communication ability cultivation from three aspects of language skills, cross-cultural communication and professional knowledge and skills, and provides relevant cases and analysis through empirical research. This study presents some specific suggestions, including educational policy and curriculum reform, teacher training, and student
participation in international communication practice, to promote the overall improvement of the international communication ability of
English major students in universities.
